Our Association exists for it's members; those who served in all eras through the life of the USS Southerland. From the 'PLANKOWNERS' who boarded her and breathed new life into her back in 1944, down through the decades until she was decommissioned in 1981 as the Navy's oldest active Gearing class destroyer (at that time).
This website serves as a portal for those who remember and keep alive the historic past that was the Southerland's.
Our Association maintains the historical artifacts from the Ship, as well as organizes reunions every other year. Our next one sets sail in Green Bay, 2008. Details have been places on the Green Bay page.
